Bio-antibody Filter

Airborne viruses are captured by the power of the bio-antibodies and then quickly removed. They work in the same way as an influenza vaccination. Bio-antibody filters are made using EGG antibody and excel in the removal of viruses.

Built-in sensor(s)

The sensors automatically detect the degree of air contamination and automatically selects the most suitable operation mode from among "High High", "High", "Standard" , "Low" and "Ion Silent", based on the existing level of contamination.

Catechin

Catechin is a bitter tasting component found in many plants, and is a type of polyphenol found in abundance in tea, it possesses antibacterial and antiviral properties. It is used in clothing such as underwear and in products such as masks and bedding.

Charcoal Filter

These filters use activated charcoal to absorb odours from the air. Odorous molecules are absorbed but are not broken down by charcoal filters, meaning that odours are re-released back into the air once the filter is saturated. Activated charcoal filters are also disposable and therefore contribute to environmental pollution.

Electrostatic Filter

This section of the Siesta's filter system is located just beyond the ioniser. This filter captures all the positively charged dust particles from the ioniser. The other side of this filter is instilled with titanium oxide which reacts with the UV inverter lamp to kill germs and bacteria and to neutralise noxious gases and unpleasant odours.

Filter Roll

The 7 pleated filter sheets will last up to 7 years based on 7-8 hours running per day on auto. The sheet simply needs to be thrown out when the filter replacement indicator light comes on and a new one is sited in front of deodorising catalyst.

Flash Streamer

Produces high speed electrons which collide and unite with water, oxygen and nitrogen in the air turning into activated particles such as excited nitrogen molecules, oxygen radicals and hydrogen radicals. They breakdown odour molecules, (Ammonia etc.) into Nitrogen and water. Acetaldehyde is broken down into water and carbon dioxide.

Formaldehyde

A chemical substance harmful to health, emanates from such things as building materials and furniture.

HEPA

High Efficiency Particulate Accumulation. A HEPA filter is one which captures dust within its internal filter. The collection rate of a HEPA filter is high initially, until the filter becomes clogged. HEPA filters were originally intended for use in operating theatres so they have very small pore filters. These quickly become clogged by the larger particulate matter in a home environment and frequent filter replacement is necessary to maintain high efficiency collection.

Hight Density Absorbing Agent

This is Zeolite which has the power to absorb odorous components. This then allows the titanium oxide to react with the Flash Streamer using the photocatalytic layer as a catalyst. This kills germs and bacteria and neutralise's noxious gases and unpleasant odours.

Ioniser

The ioniser within the Siesta Air Purifier is the element which attracts dust from within the air passing through it. Dust particles are given a positive charge by the ioniser and are then attracted to the negatively charged pleated filter beyond the ioniser. The Siesta Air Purifier has a 3 surface opposing structure ioniser for maximum dust collection efficiency.

Micrometer

Another term for micron.

Micron

A micron is the unit in which dust particles are measured. Another term for micron is micrometer. To give an idea of scale, a sharp pencil dot is about 200 microns in diameter and the Siesta removes particles down to a size of 0.001 microns. A micron is a 1/25,400 of an inch. A cubic foot of air in an average house contains approximately 3 million dust particles.

Negative Ions

Positive Ions attract atmospheric pollutants, dust particles and harmful airborne matter into interior spaces and keeps them there. Negative Ions which are abundant in natural places such as forests, waterfalls and the seaside, cancel the effect of positive ions and clean the air increasing the sense of well being.

Neutralise

Siesta Air Purifiers have the ability to neutralise noxious gases and odours from the air by the use of its photocatalytic technology. Odours and gases are broken down at their molecular level by the Siesta, meaning they no longer emit odour. Unlike some Air Purifiers which simply absorb odours, the Siesta doesn't become so saturated with odour, that they start to leak back into the air.

Photo Deodorizer

Odours cut by 95%. Kills smells even from the furthest corners of a spacious living room. Rapid deodorising of tobacco smoke. One minute after operation the amounts of ammonia, acetaldahyde and acetic acid are reduced by 95%

Photocatalysis

Photocatalytic action resembles the "photosynthesis" which takes place on the surface of plant leaves. In photosynthesis, oxygen is created from carbon dioxide and water, using chlorophyll as the catalyst. In photosynthesis hydroxyl group radicals that have powerful oxidising action are created from the water and oxygen in the air using titanium oxide as the catalyst. When bacteria and other organic substances come into contact with the hydroxyl group radicals, they become oxidised and break down. Because of this action, the Siesta can break down odorous molecules as well as bacteria and viruses.

Pre-filter

Large dust particles and pet hairs are captured and the germs attached to them are removed by the catechin component.

Titanium Apatite Filter

Odours collected on filter are broken down, bacteria and viruses are also absorbed and removed.

Titanium Oxide

This is used by the Siesta Air Purifier to react with the Flash Streamer. This produces a chemical reaction which kills germs and bacteria and neutralises noxious gases and unpleasant odours. This chemical reaction prevents germs from breeding within the filter and from decomposing and producing odour. Gases and odours are also prevented from leaking back into the atmosphere due to filter saturation. The only emissions are CO2 and water vapour.

Ultra Quiet Operation

The Siesta is very quiet and can be used in places where silence is important such as bedrooms, offices and meeting rooms. In LL mode the Siesta7FS will run at 16db. Dead of night is measured at 20db.
